This subject is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the multidisciplinary field of biomaterials and their application in various biomedical products. Through the proposed teaching methodologies, a review of different types of biomaterials, their characteristics and mechanical properties, as well as their interactions with physiological environments, is offered. Building upon the knowledge gained in the previous subject of Materials Science and Engineering (2nd year), students will develop practical skills for conducting the most common characterization tests on these materials. Finally, through group activities, collaborative work capabilities will be fostered in the search and management of information regarding the most advanced research lines in the field of biomaterials.
