CONTINUOUS EVALUATION SYSTEM The continuous evaluation system consists of two parts: (i) the exam of objective questions and (ii) the laboratory practices. (i). Examination of objective questions
This is an exam that will take place on the date scheduled in the final exam calendar of the center. It will consist of short or multiple-choice questions and will serve to evaluate the theoretical knowledge acquired by the student.
Methodology(s) applied: Examination of objective questions.
% Grading: 20%.
Minimum %: To pass the *subject the student must obtain a grade between the two tests of the subject higher than 5 out of 10.
Competences assessed: A2, A3, A5, B1, B2, B8, C4, C9, C20, C21, D1, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11, D12 and D13.
Assessed outcomes: R01, R02 and R03. (ii) Laboratory Practices This consists of the submission of all laboratory exercises assigned throughout the course. Methodology(ies) applied: Laboratory practices. Grade: 40% total Minimum passing grade: To pass the course, students must obtain a combined grade of over 5 out of 10. Competencies assessed: A2, A3, A5, B1, B2, B8, C4, C9, C20, C21, D1, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11, D12, and D13. Results assessed: R01, R02, and R03.
(iii) Supervised Project.
This consists of completing a project closely related to the course content, proposed by the instructor or the student and validated by the teaching team. A final report, along with the code and results, will be submitted. Grade: 40% total. Minimum passing grade: To pass the course, students must obtain a grade higher than 5 out of 10. Competencies assessed: A2, A3, A5, B1, B2, B8, C4, C9, C20, C21, D1, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11, D12, and D13. Outcomes assessed: R01, R02, and R03. GLOBAL EVALUATION SYSTEM When a student does not present any of the laboratory practices, it will be understood that he/she chooses the global evaluation modality. In the same way as in the previous case, the global evaluation system consists of two parts: (i) the exam of objective questions and (ii) the laboratory practicals.

(ii) Laboratory Practices and Supervised Work. It is assumed that the student does not regularly attend the practical sessions and/or does not submit the corresponding assignments. Therefore, they will be required to take an exam, which will be held after (and on the same day as) the multiple-choice exam. This exam will assess the acquisition of specific practical knowledge for the subject. Methodology(ies) applied: Laboratory practice exam and case study.
Grade percentage: 80% overall Minimum passing grade: To pass the subject, the student must obtain a grade higher than 5 out of 10.
Competencies assessed: A2, A3, A5, B1, B2, B8, C4, C9, C20, C21, D1, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11, D12, and D13.
Outcomes assessed: R01, R02, and R03.
EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR THE EXTRAORDINARY AND END-OF-COURSE EXAMS The continuous and global evaluation systems described above will be used. For these exams, the grades of the parts passed in the common exam will be kept.
GRADING PROCESS In any case, the grade that will appear in the minutes will be the weighted mean of the grades recorded in the exam of objective questions and in the laboratory practice.
EVALUATION DATES The official exam dates for the different exams, officially approved by the ESEI's Xunta de Centro, are published on the ESEI's web page ( https://esei.uvigo.es).
USE OF MOBILE DEVICES All students are reminded of the prohibition of the use of mobile devices during the evaluation tests. In particular, Article 13.2.d) of the University Student Statute, regarding the duties of university students, establishes the duty to refrain from "the use of or cooperation in fraudulent procedures in evaluation tests, in the work carried out or in official university documents".
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
AI is limited
in all assessments, both continuous and comprehensive, as well as in
all teaching activities.
Assessments/teaching
activities in which AI is permitted will be duly notified by the
teaching staff. The absence of notification implies limited use of
AI. Anyone using AI in academic, scientific, creative,
administrative, or research work must declare the tool used, the
function performed, the scope of their intervention, and the portion
of the work that constitutes human authorship.
DETECTION OF
PLAGIARISM
In the event
of detection of copying or plagiarism in any of the assessments
(continuous or comprehensive), the final grade will be a FAIL (0),
and the matter will be reported to the Center's Administration for
appropriate action. The teaching staff member responsible for the
subject reserves the right to take any further academic assessment
measures for future sessions. |
