Choose A Code Training and Learning Results
Choose B Code Knowledge
B1 CON1 Describe the principles, concepts and dimensions of the circular economy in different organisations, whether public or private, commercial or social enterprises, NGOs, or other organisations, that promote sustainable production and consumption models.
B2 CON2 Identify the advantages and challenges of making the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy, as well as its contribution to environmentally, economically, politically and socially sustainable development, assessing the associated challenges, barriers and opportunities.
B3 CON3 Understand the different environmental and resource problems existing nowadays and in the future, stressing the connection between these problems and the main habits and systems of use of resources in industrial societies, as the main causes of these problems.
B4 CON4 Knowing the new scientific-technical advances that allow reducing the main problems related to pollution, including climate change.
B5 CON5 List the environmental, economic and social challenges in the transition from a linear to a circular framework.
B6 CON6 Identify and describe the different components of the value chain, as well as the main agents involved in decision-making at different levels, thus adapting the necessary systemic perspective.
B7 CON7 Identify and describe the different management techniques of surplus materials (i.e. waste, by-products, etc.), with special emphasis on transformation and valorisation techniques. Defining waste management strategies based on environmental protection and business efficiency.
B8 CON8 Recognise the applicable legal framework, as well as the environmental management standards on which this framework is based (ISO 14000 family, ISO 26000...) and the roadmap established by the United Nations through the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
B9 CON9 Recognise the main standards, tools and methods of environmental assessment, such as impact assessment, environmental impact assessment and environmental impact assessment.
B10 CON10 Recognise eco-control methods that allow analysing opportunities and risks in ecological matters, such as eco-balances, material flow analysis, or environmental accounting.
B11 CON11 Identify and describe the role of energy in society, the use and supply of energy and the social and environmental impacts of conventional energy; assessing energy efficiency and designing the transition to low-impact energy sources (renewable energies, hydrogen) and clean technologies.
B12 CON12 Recognise the concepts associated with innovation management, innovation systems, eco-innovation, open and sustainable innovation, or the multi-level perspective, and their contribution to the sustainability of the development of innovative products/processes/services.
B13 CON13 Identify the information and communication technologies that enable the improvement of circular economy systems.
B14 CON14 Demonstrate through specific cases the real potential of circularity in strategic sectors for the development of the Galician Autonomous Community and its transfer to the national and international level.
B15 CON15 Convert the challenges posed by the transition towards sustainable production models into strategic business opportunities that have an impact on society and the environment and generate profitability for the company.
Choose C Code Skill
C1 HAB1 Use the concepts, tools and methodologies necessary to face the challenges of the transition from the linear model to the circular model of the current and future economy. Debate and argue constructively for solutions to the challenges.
C2 HAB2 Build innovative business models capable of leading and driving the transition from the linear model to the circular economy model in organisations and companies. Including the generation of a sustainable business idea, entrepreneurship, the development of a business plan and its presentation and defence before stakeholders. Produce texts at different technical levels, facilitating their understanding by the people to whom they are addressed
C3 HAB3 Use appropriate communication strategies to communicate conclusions - and the knowledge and ultimate reasons that support them - to specialised and non-specialised audiences in a clear and unambiguous way.
C4 HAB4 Implement medium and long-term strategies that enable the evolution of the production model towards sustainability, taking into account the current legislative framework but also European policies and the regulatory development deriving from them.
C5 HAB5 Use ICT-based tools for environmental assessment to evaluate and compare waste and waste stream valorisation alternatives in order to select the most sustainable technology from a holistic perspective and thus support the decision-making process
C6 HAB6 Develop knowledge that enables students to deal with the complexity of making judgements on the basis of incomplete or limited information, including reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities derived from the judgements made.
Choose D Code Competences
D1 COM1 Lead and promote the transition from the linear model to the circular economy model in organisations and companies. Design projects and solutions, identifying emerging challenges, and apply them to the social needs of the social and economic environment.
D2 COM2 Generate specific actions in the field of multi-R (redesign, remanufacture, repair, redistribute, reduce, reuse, recycle, recover energy...) and develop sustainable technical solutions. Make informed decisions, assessing the ethical consequences of these decisions, as well as their impact and the associated professional responsibility.
D3 COM3 Integrate the fundamentals of eco-design in the design of products and services.
D4 COM4 Formulate strategies for the reduction and management of surplus materials of the organisation and implement treatment and recovery techniques.
D5 COM5 Design and implement new circular and collaborative business models oriented towards climate neutrality. Plan and coordinate tasks in interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary teams to contribute to the efficiency of collaborative work.
D6 COM6 Review and integrate current environmental legislation on sustainability and associated economic policies in the performance of their activity.
D7 COM7 Propose and encourage the use of clean technologies and renewable energy sources, as well as the development of efficient water and energy management strategies.
D8 COM8 Promote and disseminate the principles, foundations and advantages of the circular economy, as well as the organisation's commitment to this new paradigm and to the social economy.
D9 COM9 Adapt to new digital contexts in a flexible manner and integrate information and communication technologies and new emerging technologies to implement and optimise circular economy models. Foster continuous learning.
