In this course, students will learn to (a) develop a syntactic analysis according to the Generative Grammar model, (b) interpret the organization of the syntax of English
starting from basic principles of Constructional Grammar and (c) reflect and debate on the descriptions offered by these two models (Generative and Constructional) regarding the linguistic and cognitive capacities of human beings. The initial units of each module introduce the essential theoretical assumptions
of the models.
