In order to pass the subject, students will need to obtain 5 marks or more in the written exam. The percentages mentioned in the above section ‘Assessment’ may be modified in the Formal Resit End-of-Term Exam call (2nd Exam opportunity) and in the Formal End-of-Degree Exam call. The Formal End-of-Degree Exam call will be a single exam, which will account for 100% of the final grade. This test will include multiple-choice questions, problems/exercises and a section where the competencies acquired in the laboratory practical sessions will be evaluated. If the student does not sit this exam or does not pass it, they will be evaluated in the conventional way, the same as all the other students. In the Formal Resit End-of-Term Exam call (2nd Exam opportunity), the student can choose to be assessed using continuous evaluation or not. If the student chooses continuous assessment, the exam will be the equivalent to that corresponding to the End-of-Term Exam (1st Exam opportunity), and the remaining grade will be calculated using the grades obtained in the activities carried out throughout the duration of the course with the same percentages. If the student does NOT opt for continuous assessment, the test will account for 70% of the final grade (the remaining 30% corresponds to the practicals, laboratory sessions, needed for a pass grade). Attendance of a minimum of 80% of the practical sessions (or the completion, at home, of the alternative experimental work proposed in the context of a health emergency) is required to pass the course. For those students who work or who have family responsibilities, a set of non-face-to-face activities will be proposed as an alternative to the laboratory sessions. This situation will need to be documented within the first week of the course or, if it appears during the course, at the date of the contract signature or when the family commitment arises.
