Order ECI/3854/2007, of December 27, 2007, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Early Childhood Education Teacher stipulates that one aspect of the competencies to be acquired by these professionals is "to be able to foster a first approach to a foreign language".
