A)
FIRST EDITION OF ACTAS (MAY):
Students can choose to follow the continuous assessment (A.1) or the final assessment
(A.2). Students must inform the teacher which of the two options they choose. Those
who choose continuous assessment must say it during the first two weeks and
hand in a card with their personal details as a photograph. Failing to
communicate the choice, to hand in the card or to do the tasks during the first
half of the term will automatically mean final assessment.
A.1) Continuous assessment
Continuous assessment means students must hand in all the compulsory assigments through Faitic in the established dates and do all the exames.
In order to pass the assessment it will be necessary:
1) To pass each of the four language skills (reading, listening, speaking and
writing) and language skills (use of English) .In the second edition of actas (July)
students will only have to do the skills that they failed.
2) To do 4 written assignments (20%), 2 listening comprehension tests (20%), 2
written comprehension tests (20%), 2 short-answer tests (20%) and 2 oral
presentations (20%). The dates will be announced in the Faitic platform at the
beginning of the semester.
3) The 4 written papers will be delivered during the semester. The reading and
listening comprehension tests will be performed together in two sets, one of
which will take place about half of the semester and one in the official exam date.
The short-answer tests for evaluating Use of English will also take place
mid-term and towards the end. As to oral presentations, the first will be mid-term
and the other on the last day of teaching. All dates will be specified in
detail at the beginning of the semester through the faitic platform.
Continuous assessment requires students to show their skills regularly
throughout the semester. Therefore, testing and courseworks that students do not deliver would count as a
"0" and sores below “3” on the various tests, presentations and
papers will also count as a "0".
A.2) Single Assessment
Students who do not attend classes regularly or perform any partial test may take
the only assessment which will consist of one final global test that counts
100% of the final qualification. The only exams consist sof the following parts:
- Use of English (20%), writing (20%), speaking (20%), reading (20%), listening
(20%)
To pass this test students must pass all the parts. The parts passed will be
kept for the next edition of actas. The test takes place in the official date
of examination except the oral expression test for which students will have to
contact the teacher to agree on a date.
B) SECOND EDITION ACTAS (July 2017):
Students who failed or did not showed up in the first edition of actas will be
evaluated in the second edition in July through a single test that will have
the same characteristics as the one in the first edition:
- Use of English(20%), writing (20%), speaking (20%), reading (20%), listening
(20%) B)
To pass this test students must
pass all the parts. The parts passed will be kept for the next edition of actas.
The test takes place in the official date of examination set by the faculty in
July.
All tests are modeled after the certificate "Cambridge Advanced English"
and the directions set for the C1 level in the European Framework of Reference
for Teaching Languages.
While performing the tests the us eof dictionaries, computer, internet or other electronic
media is not allowed.
Plagiarism will mean failing the subject. |
