Growing concern over the efficient use of public funds, together with an increasingly marked orientation of public administrations towards citizen service, has driven the progressive incorporation of people management techniques originating from the business sector into public organisations. This evolution has entailed, above all, a greater awareness of the impact that employment and remuneration policies, working methods, outcomes achieved and staff attitudes have on the effectiveness and efficiency of the public sector.
Within this context, the aim of this course is to foster critical knowledge and analysis of the tools and practices of people management applicable in public administrations, providing students with a solid conceptual foundation that enables them to understand and apply these tools in real professional settings.
