This course aims not only to educate but also to raise students' awareness of fundamental issues in sociological knowledge. Any professional providing services through public administration or private entities must be able to understand and analyze how social structures and relationships influence the daily lives of individuals, groups, and organizations. Social reality must be understood with the awareness that human behavior and social processes are shaped by socially shared norms and dominant cultural values. Theoretical knowledge (concepts, theories, etc.) will be applied to real and current situations or problems, and the course will incorporate news, debates, and discussions on contemporary issues. This is an English Friendly course. International students may request from the teaching staff: a) course materials and bibliographic references in English, b) tutoring sessions in English, c) exams and assessments in English.
